Publication Design

This magazine cover and feature spread uses images and a condensed story from HOW, a design magazine that ran from 1985 to 2019. The featured story ran in March 2018 and goes through 33 years of notable design since the magazine’s start. The cover is a collage of many of the images found in the original article behind a large 33 to signify the span of time. The first page is another grouping of images, one from each decade spanned by the period, and the article title leaks onto it from the second page. The text is arranged in two columns, with a total of four across two pages, and the last page features two more images. The color scheme uses purple and red, the latter particularly for emphasis.
